SEATTLE - The Raiders finished the exhibition season 1-3. But the two most important losses weren't games. They were wide receiver Drew Carter and fullback Oren O'Neal, both out for the season with knee injuries.

The Raiders were only two players away from reaching the mandated maximum roster size of 75. While the Raiders are still in need of a third receiver to fill the hole by the Drew Carter injury, they chose to instead thin their already thin ranks at the position by letting go of Drisan James. While [...]

The Raiders went from three-deep to knee-deep at wide receiver, and there isn't much time to find experienced help. Wide receiver Drew Carter is done for the year, as expected, with an ACL tear in his left knee. With virtually no NFL experience beyond...

Filed under: Raiders , AFC West I feel kind of bad for Lane Kiffin . He seems like a likable guy. Young, full of fire, an NFL Head Coach at the age of 32, he's got a lot going for him. Except for the fact that NFL coaching job just happens to be with the Oakland Raiders. And, well, as long as the long arm of Al Davis is still able to reach out of the owners box and pull the strings his head coach...

Oakland wide receiver Drew Carter will miss the entire 2008 campaign with a torn ACL, Raiders coach Lane Kiffin said in a conference call on the team's website Sunday.

Not only did the raiders forget to show up Saturday against the Cards they lost 2 players for the season in Drew Carter and Oren O'Neil. This really hurts the WR as we are pretty thin to start out with and Javon needs to step up his play. Let's hope we get through the next game with the rest of the squad intact and we can get off to a 1-0 start against the Donk's http://www.ibabuzz.com/raidersblog/2008/08/23/oneal-carter-out-for-the-season/...

Filed under: Raiders , AFC West Bad night all around for the Oakland Raiders. Not only did they get shutout by the Arizona Cardinals (never a good thing) 24-0, they also lost wide receiver Drew Carter and starting fullback Oren O'Neal , likely for the entire 2008 season, in the first four plays of the game. O'neal went down on the opening kickoff and Carter soon followed on the third play from scrimmage....

Raiders wide receiver Drew Carter doesn't think the passing game needs better receivers. They just need a chance. Call for a passing route, Carter said, let quarterback JaMarcus Russell gun the ball downfield, then watch him and the other receivers pad...

For all the money the Raiders threw around this past offseason, wide receiver Drew Carter looks like the steal of the free-agent class. The fifth-year receiver from Carolina continued to catch...

Filed under: Raiders , AFC West , NFL Injuries Lane Kiffin has assured us that Javon Walker will be reading for training camp, even though, you know, he's fresh off getting his clock cleaned -- including a broken orbital bone -- not to mention the knee injury he was already rehabbing. Working on the assumption that Walker might not be ready for the start of the season, what does this mean for the...
