A Danville man serving jail time for burglary escaped Saturday from the Edinburgh Correctional Facility. Dustin Smith, 27, was discovered to be missing during a routine "noon count" of inmates, according to a release from facility officials.

The Barren County Sheriff's Office investigated a one-vehicle accident that occurred about 7:05 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Finny Road. Dustin Smith was southbound on Finny Road when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle crossed the center line and left the road and hit a concrete culvert.
