Where there's a Will, there's a way (Free subscription) | 11/30/2008
I recently made my first trip to Chicago since starting my vinyl record collection. I went for the Steve Earle and Tom Morello concert at the Vic Theater, which was incredible. This is the fifth time I've seen Steve Earle...
Guy Earle was the comedian who was complained against before the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal. The reason for the complaint was that he had responded rather rudely to some hecklers of his at an open mic night. That the hecklers happened to be lesbians no doubt led to the complaint. It's absolutely ridiculous, but you don't see it mentioned too much. But...every so often: Guy Earle...

... walkthrough attraction of 1957, co-designed by animation art director and color stylist Eyvind Earle, who was credited with giving the motion picture “Sleeping Beauty” its distinctive and colorful look of storybook illustrations in medieval style. Enhanced with new scenes and special-effects magic, the re-Imagineered attraction employs technology not available in the 1950s to tell the story...
... My first reaction was that van Persie was completely offside, but TWI co-commentator Robbie Earle was quick to call the goal a correct decision after he noticed that the ball deflected off Ashley Cole into van Persie’s path. After rewinding the play in the game several times, I could see how Earle’s reading of the game was spot on. Here’s how the rest of the media summed up the controversial...
... anthem that is "Love" -- as well as play to the country in-crowd, as it does on "Steve Earle." To be sure, Sugarland has already crossed over, even getting to perform with , but a few major Grammy nods could set the act over the top, albeit nothing that will likely challenge Swift's crown. Here are the best bets for country album of the year:Sugarland's "Love on the Inside"Carrie Underwood's...
... Totally different When the second half started, Waterhouse looked a totally different team as Earle, Lance Dacosta, Kirk Ramsey, Kevin Lamey and substitute Jonathan Williams had things their own way for the better part of 35 minutes. The only thing that stood between Waterhouse scoring on numerous occasions was goalkeeper Ralston Robinson, who kept his heart out, with no fewer than 10 outstanding...
... gave a very professional spot next, which had some of their own tunes as well as covers by Steve Earle amongst others. The tunes featured them both on guitar and vocals, with Cath also playing great accordion and fiddle. Andy also sported a great guitar shirt (must get one!) and came to my aid in the shape of a Fred Kelly thumbpick. We () finished the night off to great response - despite...
When Steve Earle went on "Today" and had the guts to sing the controversial "John Walker's Blues" during the peak of pro-war sentiment - with Matt Lauer looking at him like he was a traitor - I felt proud to own all of his albums. And when his song "The Revolution Starts ..." showed up on a General Motors truck commercial, I kept jabbing myself with the remote control while hoping it was all...
