Groucho Marx once said, "I would not join any club that would have someone like me for a member." That was my original concern about attending the Fortune Brainstorm, a three day technology conference in Half Moon Bay California. I...

One of the best panels at the recent Fortune Brainstorm conference was the "Blogger Showdown" panel at the Monday evening dinner. Adam Lashinsky does a great job moderating the panel. This is the only video of the panel. On stage is Robert Scoble, Kara Swisher and Om Malik. The panel soon gets off to a raucaus start. Hear Kara saying that she's loving being a Rupert Murdoch employee!...

[Wrapping up the week in three dots . . .] We get it right the first time ... [correction] At the Fortune Brainstorm conference Fortune writer Adam Lashinsky got a big laugh as moderator of "The Blogger Showdown" when the subject of bloggers making mistakes came up: "We like to get it right the first time!" he said. Fortune's Techland ran a story about the blogger panel....

Members of the featured band at Fortune Brainstorm - The Go - passed commentary on the Silicon Valley crowd by crashing on chairs beside the restroom. The distant member of the band in this photo clearly used his university years to perfect the “reading-not-sleeping” pose. Too bad his heavy breathing gave it away. As for conference [...]

“It has got dummied down,” musician Neil Young just told the audience. He is trying to get us all to pressure Apple and the PC industry to give us much better quality. He chastised us all for not talking about the quality of music and not asking the industry for better quality. He says that [...]

I'm at Fortune's exclusive invite-only Brainstorm conference in Half Moon Bay, California. The content of the panels is really dull . On the breaks everyone is complaining about it. There is little involvement from the audience (except Vint Cerf!) and the moderators talk way too much. All the action is off-podium. I've been chatting with Vint Cerf, Michael Capellas, Jeff Bezos, Sophie...

This morning at the Fortune Brainstorm Tech conference in Half Moon Bay, the opening keynote session was a Q&A between Philippe Daumann, CEO of Viacom ( NYSE: VIA ), and Ivan Seidenberg, CEO of Verizon Communications ( NYSE: VZ ), moderated by Andy Serwer. It sorta fell flat for most of the session...maybe it was the sleepy and overcast morning, or maybe the pairing of the two together...
