At last count, it actually had a small plurality of whites. So it is possible to make life difficult for Howard Coble and Virginia Foxx while still keeping the 12th navy blue.

Physicians are part of that system as well. Dr. Bratton, who is running against Howard Coble, has said she's not for Universal Health Care or Single Payer "at this time". Her reasons, if I recall, were that people would lose jobs. She was also concerned that a single payer system would not reimburse doctors enough. I see that as a bad sign. They increased the Health Choice (NC's S-CHIP) eligibility limits to 300% of the poverty level. Elizabeth Dole, Howard Coble, and the Bushies would have that capped at a lower level - I think 200 or 250%. It's not perfect, but Health Choice is a step in the right direction. and his abysmal record is what to BlueNC in the first place . He doesn't get noticed as much as Virginia Foxx or Patrick McHenry. He quietly goes about his business, giving in to corporate interests and voting against the best interest of the people in his district. Be the change you wish to see in the world. --Gandhi Pointing at Naked Emperors

"All [Howard Coble] does is go around and pat people on the back and tell jokes and eat barbecue." - NC Rep Cary Allred, R-Alamance, (News & Record, Dec 18, 2007) I may officially like my first Republican ever.

Howard Coble launches a campaign website. Here's the one for his challenger, Teresa Bratton. They're both on Facebook, too.

It comes from 24 years of being misrepresented by Howard Coble. Howard Coble, who signed a Contract On America, excuse me, Contract with America, which contained a pledge to voluntarily limit himself to being a "citizen legislator." 24 years down the road, Old Howard has made a pretty good career out of being a citizen legislator! Oh, he'll tell you that that part of the Contract on America, excuse...

I have announced before my support for my friend and blogger Jay Ovittore in his race to unseat the Republican Congressman Howard Coble. But before he can get there, he first needs to defeat the establishment Democrats in the primaries , still not easy for a true Progressive here in North Carolina. The last day of this month is the day when the money is counted and you know that these numbers have...

Howard Coble recently voted against the Economic Stimulus Plan. Would you have also voted for this plan? If not could you give a plan for helping to stimulate the economy in a better way?
