I GUESS nobody can argue with the fact that Brown has been a "fucking disaster" . Compared to Glasgow East, the debacle at Crewe and Nantwich looks like a blip. In addition, despite Brown's regular calls for unity I thought it was interesting to hear that John Reid (Chairman of Celtic Football Club) was largely absent in the campaign. I keep hearing how Labour ran a good campaign but concerns over...

I think that unions have a moral right to hold these opinions . This government is meant to be a democratic socialist one. What is democratic socialism without regulating the market? Laissez Faire? Progress back Hutton up. Why won't some of those on the Trade Union Right wake up to just how anti-union these people are?

I'm ashamed that Tony Woodley, the joint general secretary of my own union, has made an outrageous personal attack on John Hutton, one of the best cabinet ministers for business and enterprise that Labour has ever had. Hutton isn't afraid to tackle the real issues and make the difficult and often unpopular decisions that deliver for Britain. Witness his recent announcements on nuclear...

The parallel with former PM John Major's stand has infuriated some ministers, and led John Hutton, the business secretary - and least popular minister with the unions, after he praised millionaires and said there would be no more concessions on labour laws - to ask: "Who are the unions to say this anyway? Who elected them? We are not going back to the 70s."
