REMEMBER First Union? How about CoreStates? Maybe Meridian rings a bell. No? Then you won't remember Girard Trust or First Pennsylvania, either. If the name wasn't emblazoned across the top of one of the city's tallest buildings, PSFS would be long forgotten by now.

I don`t think these have been mentioned here before: # If you are prone to get indigestion, even only occasionally, make sure you bring your own antacid tablets. Although the Japanese are prone to worry about their digestive track (with Yakult and gut products very common,) when it comes to simple antacids as found in every corner store in Australia, the Japanese just don`t seem to carry them....

“..Palin is a lot like a ’90s “Rules Girl.” She follows a playbook that men respond to — one that gives women indigestion. I have been feeling really guilty about not liking Sarah Palin. She’s independent, her husband helps raise the kids, she’s worked most of her life. I should luv her. But the minute she [...]

Our Venus Flytrap is very healthy just now, its enjoyed the damp summer and the occasional snack of unsuspecting flies that come in through the open window. It's even tried to eat a wasp but that seemed to give it indigestion. Now its time for it to be put into a miniature glasshouse to keep it warm and moist over the colder months. My partner is busily working on something involving a plastic...

The pain in the belly of children disappear almost always spontaneously with the help of a massage or any other home remedy. After going to the umpteenth person who answers in the negative when I ask, "Have you tried taking a painkiller?", I would suggest that if people were to take a painkiller, my workload would be halved. And after last night, a drop of antacid for indigestion might be handy as well. But that way lies madness, for soon I'll expect people to be able to put a sticking plaster on themselves next.

October 2 In Jewish History 322 BCE: The Greek philosopher Aristotle dies of indigestion. (Is this what you get for eating traif?) Several Jewish philosophers and theologians would be influenced or be-deviled by Aristotelianism, not the least of whom would be Judah ha-Levi and Maimonides 1187: Sultan Saladin captured Jerusalem from the Crusaders. While the Crusaders had held Jerusalem, they...

Oh dear! My campaign for Eric Pickles to become the next Tory chairman (see my earlier blog) has suffered a hiccup. A bout of indigestion, even. I don't know. I leave Birmingham for a few hours to return to Westminster to report on the frenetic round of Whitehall meetings on the economic crisis involving Alistair Darling, George Osborne and others and the PM's Downing Street interviews. And...
