I would like to recommend an amazing electrician who also specializes in air conditioners to anyone and everyone. He is fully certified and is reliable, clean, polite and responsible. But be forewarned..he may sing while he works opera! His name is CHAIM and his phone number is 052-248-5058. All the best, Joanna Five-Towns-yahoogroups May 2008

Most supplementary programs provide for what they call dental coverage. What that means is that you can go to the dental clinic by the same name as the kupat cholim and you will get a discounted price. The clinics are loosely connected to the kupat cholim but are actually privately run clinics that offer the discount to members of the specific kupat cholim. Yes you can get a discount on orthodontics....

Try Ma'adanei HaBira, Shmuel HaNavi 63.? I can't swear that he has what you're looking for specifically, but he usually has a good selection of meat (including cuts of lamb) and is very accommodating of customer requests. poster israelfood digest May 2009

Happy to recommend DAVID SASSOON - he did a lot of work on our house, whichis a wooden house, including putting in insulation in the roof and other roof work. As part of that, he had to re-install the original skylights and he did a fantastic job of that (and other things). He speaks English and Hebrew. I have a plan with 012, which is also my internet provider. I pay a few shekel a month for the ability to call any US number from either my home phone or my cellphone. I just dial 012 then 1 and the US number; the calls are automatically billed with my 012 monthly bill. The airtime is also inexpensive. I love it because it's an option when the VOIP is down or tied up, and I can call from my cellphone....

I use 018 and have been very happy with the quality of the calls and the incredibly low price of 12 agurot a minute (I pay in increments of 50 NIS up front, otherwise it's more expensive). No monthly fees, 1 second rounding (as far as I can tell) and the prepaid funds do not expire. In the 6 months or so that I've been using them I have found no catches at all! Try Bezek. They have a great plan to call back and forth on the same plan but with two different numbers. One in Israel and one in the US. Sharon nbnyahoogroup May 2008

In a country as conflicted as Israel, hosting a group of highly respected authors from around the world who come to talk about literature and life is not a feat to be taken for granted.
