As of 1:00 pm the Brewers still have not announced who is going to go to make room for the returning Jeff Suppan. It is down to either Mitch Stetter who has options and can be sent back to Nashville, or Mota who would have to be DFAed. I am hoping it's Mota but my guess is that they will send Stetter because then they would not have to give up a player. The only thing that might keep Stetter up is...

The Brewers expect to activate Jeff Suppan from the disabled list to make tonight's start against his former team. Suppan went on the 15-day DL after hyperextending his right elbow taking a swing earlier this season. STL Today

It's not exactly breaking news that our starting rotation has performed well lately. When Yovani Gallardo went down, Jeff Suppan suddenly appeared to be our #2 starter; now, with the emergence of Manny Parra, the acquisition of CC Sabathia, and the surprising goodness of Dave Bush and Seth McClung, Suppan could be considered #5. But even beyond that, the pitching staff as a whole has gotten steadily...

After the game, Tony La Russa said, “Good win for them. Bad loss for us.” No kidding. You threw your best pitcher (this season) and you lost. You failed to pummel somebody named Seth McClung. You failed to beat up on aging vet Jeff Suppan. Now you face Sabathia and Sheets and your chances [...]

The Brewers had a very, very productive Tuesday, at least in the view of the front office. The obvious made they made today was bring Jeff Suppan off the disabled list, but I was surprised to see Mitch Stetter be the one to go . He's been optioned to Triple-A Nashville, but I really thought Mota might have been DFA'd. It appears his efforts in the sixth inning on Monday night may have bought him some...

Rallying the momentum of a five game winning streak the Brewers once again attempt to correct their year previous road woes. It's Jeff Suppan fresh of the DL for the crew vs Kyle "Dave Duncan makes me millions" Lohse. Ned Yost is a real man and real men manage with their guts. Here's what he spit up on the lineup card: 2B Rickie Weeks SS JJ Hardy LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder RF Gabe Kapler 3B Bill...

suppan lohse 5-6, 4.71 12-2, 3.35 When the Cardinals signed Jeff Suppan after the 2003 season, he was just about to turn 29. When the Cards signed Kyle Lohse, he had turned 29 just a couple of months prior. It’s amazing how similar they were. Though Suppan had recently been Dfa’d by the Sox after a bad couple of months following the trade from Pitttsburgh, he had a fairly decent pedigree. He had thrown...

Winning streaks are fun! Well, at least the parts of the winning streaks that don't involve coughing up a one-run lead in the ninth thanks to little-league quality defense. The rest is good, though! Tonight's matchup is Jeff Suppan vs. Kyle Lohse, otherwise known as "Object lesson #672 on why Dave Duncan saves the Cardinals millions." St. Louis passed on signing Suppan, and in his place, they brought...

Now that the Brewers have added CC Sabathia to their starting rotation, they have a bit of an overflow in the starting rotation. When Jeff Suppan returns from the disabled list after the break, the Brewers will have six pitchers for five spots. Normally that would mean that either Dave Bush or Seth McLung would be the odd man out, and relegated to long relief out of the bullpen. That is, if Ned

Jeff Suppan(Brewers): Yost said he was at mile marker 19 of a 25-mile road in terms of making a decision, although the way he talked about the idea Sunday made it seem he was further down that path. The plan would be implemented after the all-star break, when Jeff Suppan comes off the disabled list. McClung would get the first turn next Monday in St. Louis. Notes Matt Ginter(Indians): The Indians starting...

I can't say as I've ever heard of anything like this, but Brew Town Beat is reporting that the Brewers are considering using a platoon in the starting rotation: "In an interesting turn of events, on WSSP's Doug Russell show this morning Adam McCalvy indicated that when Jeff Suppan returns the Brewers are leaning towards a six man rotation. To pull this off, Seth McClung and Dave Bush would share the...

Jeff Suppan(Brewers): Right-hander Jeff Suppan, who is on the disabled list with irritation in his elbow, is scheduled to be activated to start the fifth game after the break. That leaves Yost to fill the fourth spot with either Dave Bush or Seth McClung.
