The former Tina Louise Brown always wanted to be a teacher, said her son, Richie. She graduated from Haddon Heights High School in 1966 and earned a bachelor's degree in education from Glassboro State College - now Rowan University - in Glassboro in 1970. She married Richard F. Wells, a superior court judge in Camden County, in 1973.
