HAT TIP to those fine people at Scottish Roundup for referring to my remark about Labour's campaign in Glasgow East. I just thought I'd add that not only did Margaret Curran lie about living and working in Glasgow East "all her life", but she also stated that she would not be moving to the constituency if she won. Poor candidate, poor campaign.

The Labour candidate in the Glasgow East by-election is Margaret Curran. One look at her bio and she fits into the New Labour politician mold. Her story represented working class heroism. Born to a Glasgow working class family from Ireland, she went to the local primary and secondary schools. Then she won a place to Glasgow University and became involved in the student Labour party there....

In the Labour campaign leaflet below, Margaret criticises the SNP saying "Thousands of drug dealers, thieves and neds will be released onto our streets under SNP plans to empty our jails" Actually what the SNP plan to do is reduce the number of sentences of under six months handed out by using community service and fines...
