Sanyo to expand solar plant in Mexico

Sanyo will increase jobs at the Monterrey plant to about 300. It recently also announced plans to construct an $80 million solar cell manufacturing plant in Salem, Oregon that will create 200 jobs. That plant will make silicon ingots and wafers for solar cells. That plant is to open in two phases, the first in October 2009 and the second in 2010.
