Well a bit of disappointment right from the off tonight, as one of the main reasons I'd booked for Michel Legrand's new musical Marguerite was to see Julian Ovenden, and we got his understudy tonight. With the exception of some painful high notes Lincoln Stone did very well as Artaud, in terms of his singing in any case; as far as looks and sex appeal went, it was hard to buy Marguerite...

Grr. The recording of this cut off just a little before the end but I think I got the idea … I’m not too great at finding things to say about films like this anyway. What I do know, what matters, is that I kinda liked it and would certainly (especially since I missed the end lol) watch it again. Michel Legrand’s music is really gorgeous.
