A motorcycle driver was killed early this morning in a two-vehicle crash on Route 284 in Wantage, in northern Sussex County, police said. The incident occurred near milepost 4.5 at 1:05 a.m. when a southbound 2000 Plymouth Neon car crossed...
I'm back after 2,200 miles, six days and two high-school reunion events in Denver. I'll chronicle the Ford GT's road trip aspect in our long-term blog, but let's just say the car was trouble free and an easy partner to live with during the journey (big surprise, right'). As for the 20-year high-school reunion, the thought of bringing my 1970 Plymouth GTX back to Denver last summer , and then driving...
Though Plymouth was killed off a few years ago, that hasn’t stopped the folks at Mopar Enthusiast magazine from dreaming up what they envisioned as the 2010 Plymouth Road Runner concept car. The renderings are featured in their August/September issue. The concept takes many of its styling cues from the second generation Road Runner, built from 1971-75 but also features modern elements such as 21-inch...
More of a result of pipe-dreaming than actual inside info, the 2010 Plymouth Road Runner Concept that’s featured in the August/September issue of Mopar Enthusiast magazine is based on the new Dodge Challenger using styling cues from the ’71-’72 model year Road Runners. The folks at Mopar Enthusiast are pretty optimistic that gas prices will drop since they believe that the car should be powered by...
Bill Stiles and Jere Stahl of York ran their 1966 Plymouth Belvedere in National Hot Rod Association competition and won every national event in '66. The photo was taken in 1966 at Stiles Performance. Jere Stahl received drag racing's Legion of Honor award at Musclecar Madness several years ago. The seventh annual racing event concluded over the weekend. Background posts: U.S. Drag-O-Way, Part I ,...
Filed under: Concept Cars , Rendered Speculation Yes, we know the Plymouth brand went extinct a few years ago, and Mopar Enthusiast magazine obviously knows that as well, but that didn't stop them from taking part in some wishful thinking. Their August/September issue features their vision of a 2010 Plymouth Road Runner concept car that takes styling cues from the '71-'72 model years. Features include...
Q : I recently had some minor work done on my 1999 Plymouth Voyager at a franchise tire store and asked for the free tire rotation promised when one buys tires there. I got a call telling me that my tires were from 2002 and that they had dry rot, implying they needed to be replaced.
Filed under: Motorsports , Coupes , Videos , Chrysler, LLC. , Dodge Those of you steeped in drag racing lore are undoubtedly familiar with the 1968 HEMI-powered Dodge Darts and Plymouth Barracudas. These limited edition, track-bound '68 package cars brought out some of the biggest names in drag racing and helped solidify the automaker as a force to be reckoned with down the 1320. When Dodge unveiled...
OK, so it's a Mustang instead of a '71 Plymouth Valiant, but we'll cut the makers of this homage to Steven Spielberg's Duel some slack on that detail; it's not easy finding a toy 4-door Valiant in France. Thanks to- who else?- Franzouse for the tip! [Dailymotion.com]
Someone absolutely needs to restore the spring in this low-mileage 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbird’s step. With a claimed 35,000 clicks on the clock, this is a compelling project car for someone, even if it has a non-original 440 under the hood. There’s clearly a lot of work to be done here, but the seller claims that 90 percent of the parts are there for the (motivated) party who is interested...
While traveling around Lanesboro, Massachusetts, recently, Mike Eldred, our friend from south central Vermont, spotted a few roadside attractions he thought we’d be interested in. First up, what appears to be a 1955 Dodge Royal Lancer four-door sedan. Then a 1956 Plymouth Savoy four-door sedan. And then the Green Valley Equipment’s giant dude-slash-Paul Bunyan-slash-muffler man statue. I have [...]...
Sometimes you can bash away on your low-budget race car for a full dawn-to-dusk weekend, yet it's still not ready. That's when you need to take drastic measures... It was clear that Belvedere Adrian's '66 Plymouth Belvedere would need to have the front brakes upgraded from drums to discs if the team wanted to race at the 24 Hours of LeMons race in December. So, courtesy of a '73-76 Mopar A-body donor...

Yes, we’ve got another POLAЯ DOTSBE car for you, this time a 1967 Plymouth Fury III (much like the one we saw in Orange County last Sunday). galleryPost(’DOTSBETorontoFuryIII’, 3, ‘1967 Plymouth Down On The Toronto Street’); Within the same block as the 1959 Desoto, I discovered this 1967 Plymouth Fury III parked on the same [...]
We're still in lovely Costa Mesa, California, where Tomsk photographed this '67 Plymouth Fury for us. The hood ornament and "Commando V8" badging indicate that the car shipped with a 270- or 325-horsepower 383 under the hood (although there's no telling what sort of powerplant lives there now, what with the ready availability of so many flavors of Mopar engines over the decades). Jump like the cost...
