Who knew that on the weekend we decided to go visit Chicago, crime was all around us? Friday night, Rex Grossman’s sister was robbed at gunpoint. (We have no idea if any of these women are Rex’s sister, but we now know how dangerous Chi-town is: 125 shooting deaths there this summer; only half that many [...]

Chicago Bears backup quarterback Rex Grossman is among the first condo buyers in Chicago's Trump International Hotel & Tower, Crain's reports . [Grossman] paid $2.68 million earlier this month for a 3,437-square-foot unit in the tower at 401 N. Wabash Ave. along with two parking spaces, according to property records filed with the Cook County Recorder of Deeds. The purchase price is slightly less than...

As a devout reader of the hilarious NFL Blog known to fans as KSK, I can’t help but think of their Rex Grossman posts everytime Harrison Beck enters the game - particularly this one (warning - more bad language than a BJD95 live blog that involves UNC or Duke). I’m certainly glad Beck is taking the [...]

Rex Grossman is currently the number two option for the Chicago Bears, behind Kyle Orton. Grossman is 28 years old and was the 22nd pick of the 1st round pick, back in 2003 by the Bears. In his first three seasons with the Bears he had four touchdowns, five interceptions, one rushing touchdown in nine games. The beginning of his career with the Bears was cut short by injuries. Grossman showed some...

It is fair to say that not many if any QBs have been through what Bears backup Rex Grossman has. Some of it was his fault, but he was catching a level of criticism that you don't see often. When the Bears selected Kyle Orton as their starter Grossman didn't take it lightly. He has since rededicated himself to his preperation should his number be called again. Grossman said, ''I'll never fully get...

It was only a mere 19 months ago that the Colts thumped the Bears in the Super Bowl , a year in which the Bears were clearly led by a top-flight defense. They even won a few games, even when Rex Grossman tried his damnedest to lose it for the Bears. Brian Urlacher was a feared MLB, and Tommie Harris was one of the best DT in the NFL. In 2006, the Bears finished 3rd in Points Allowed , and 5th in Yards/Game...

If nothing else, at least the Bears have decided on a starting quarterback. That's the good news, maybe, depending upon how well Kyle Orton plays after winning the quarterback battle with Rex Grossman.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported this morning that longtime columnist Jay Maritotti was leaving the paper “to pursue other opportunities.” Though there wouldn’t seem to be an unlimited number of opportunities to make Rex Grossman cry or to goad Ozzie Guillen into calling Jay a fag (professionally, anyway), wherever it happens next will probably be online [...]

If one more person tries to convince me that Rex Grossman led the Chicago Bears to Super Bowl XLI, I will jump from the top floor of Watterson Towers. The Bears made the Super Bowl despite starting one of the worst quarterbacks in the league that season. He threw nearly as many interceptions as touchdowns-23 to 20.

Grossman's experience still key to Bears' season The constant booing makes no sense for a guy who was 19-11 as a starter and never embarrassed the team off the field, but that's beside the point. The point: Dislike Rex Grossman if it helps you get through the day but don't dismiss him as a key part of this season.

Today's practice ended and Rex Grossman final addressed the media. He has waited to talk since losing the starting QB job to Kyle Orton. Rex said "You just have to deal with it, There's no other option." Rex also said "I was a little surprised but I’ve had some time to digest it and I’ll be ready to go." This is first time in Rex's career that he will be on the bench as the backup QB. Rex was always...
