From RichardDurrett: Vicente Padilla is still in Nicaragua tending to a family issue, so lefty A.J. Murray will start tomorrow. Padilla should pitch at some point this weekend, though the club isn't sure when. Kevin Millwood also has a "personal issue" to deal with on Wednesday, so he'll start Thursday and Sidney Ponson will pitch on three days rest. So in a week where the bullpen may...
Rituals, stunts help Texas Rangers pass chemistry test 09:33 PM CDT on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 By RICHARDDURRETT / The Dallas Morning News ARLINGTON – Chemistry is a critical part of a competitive baseball club. Players spend nearly every day together for at least seven months. It's a lot more enjoyable when teammates genuinely like and pull for each other. That appears to be the case...
Per RichardDurrett, the Rangers have called up Kam Loe, purchased the contract of Joselo Diaz, and optioned Wes Littleton to AAA and Scott Feldman to AA. The Rangers' 40 man roster is now full, with the addition of Diaz, although I can't imagine he'll be occupying a spot for long. But we now have a couple of fresh arms in the pen, should Luis Mendoza implode.
Per RichardDurrett, Michael Ballard is supposed to get the start tomorrow against the Angles. Ballard is an organizational depth guy who, presumably, will be DFA'd immediately after tomorrow night's game. You can check out his numbers here . He's a 24 year old lefty drafted in the 14th round of the 2006 draft. My guess is that he'll clear waivers unclaimed and be outrighted later this...
Per RichardDurrett, Eric Hurley is still having issues with his hamstring, so the Rangers will call up Matt Harrison to get the start (and make his major league debut) tomorrow. No word yet on how the Rangers will make room for him, but you'd have to figure that either Warner Madrigal gets sent down or Vicente Padilla goes to the d.l.
Per RichardDurrett on the DMN blog , Ron Washington says Luis Mendoza will be starting on Wednesday, and will be in the rotation for the "foreseeable future." And per Durrett, Mendoza will apparently be going up against Sidney Ponson, in a battle of sinkerballers.
Julio Borbon is on the Frisco Roughriders roster, on the milb site. Craig Gentry is listed as being on the 7 day d.l., so it may be that Borbon is being promoted to fill in for him. More on this if and when it is confirmed... UPDATE -- Confirmed by RichardDurrett

RichardDurrett / Dallas Morning News : Texas Rangers' Bradley gets emotional over TV comments — rdurrett@dallasnews.com — KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Milton Bradley is an emotional player. That emotion overflowed in the clubhouse after Wednesday's game in response to something Kansas City Royals television broadcaster Ryan Lefebvre …
I awoke this morning (OK, afternoon) foolishly believing Carlos Beltran bailing out Billy Wagner after the latter blew a save on behalf of the uncharacteristically-brilliant Mike Pelfrey was Wednesday big baseball story. That was until I’d read the following item from the Dallas Morning News’ RichardDurrett. I’d wondered the other day what were [...]

. “A frustrated Patrick jumped out of her car and briskly walked toward Briscoe’s pit stall, taking her gloves off as she went as if planning to send a stern message when she arrived. But security steered her clear.”
