The latest article from Phil Rogers also discusses the Cubs interest in Mark Teahen. I still can't fathom why the Cubs would be interested in a player with a 98 and 91 OPS+ the last two years. Rogers suggests that Felix Pie for Teahen would get the deal done or Mike Fontenot and Ronny Cedeno. I suggest that the Phil Rogers finds a new profession and the Cubs actually acquire someone who might help...

- Bruce Levine reported on the radio talks between the Cubs and Padres centered around Sean Marshall, Felix Pie, Ronny Cedeno and Jose Ceda. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's not enough. The Trib's Dave Van Dyck quotes a scout saying the Cubs lack the talent the Padres want but has a source that also mentions Felix Pie, Ronny Cedeno and others. It goes on to say that it's definitley Peavy...

The last thing I thought I'd be doing is sitting at the computer on Oct. 3 and writing that it's time to break up the Chicago Cubs. Not because they're so good, but because they're so bad. Give us a new look. Please. I mean, trade away guys like Derrek Lee, Alfonso Soriano, Ronny Cedeno and maybe even boyish-looking, but weak-armed shortstop Ryan Theriot. Get some 20- and 22-year-old kids who can run,...

The Cubs dropped their last regular season game 3-1 on Sunday and helped the Milwaukee Brewers win the wild card In an effort to shake off any rust from their recent rests, most of the starters saw action today but only Ronny Cedeno produced a run. It was pitcher by committee as the Cubs trotted seven different pitchers to the mound, none throwing longer than two innings, and Bob Howry earning the...

If lacked any sort of self-control, I'd spill hundreds of furious words lambasting the paradoxical Ronny Cedeno -- so good at times and maddeningly bad at others.

It’s a big situation and Ryan Theriot is injured. Would you be more confident in Ronny Cedeno at SS or the 2003 Alex Gonzalez at SS? How many people are ready to commit fantasy football suicide now that Tom Brady is out for the season. (Hint: not me!!!) Does this start by Sean Marshall give you anymore [...]

There wasn't much that was worth remembering about last night's loss. Here are three photos of interest. Ryan Dempster doing his pregame warmups Ronny Cedeno tagged out at the plate in the fifth inning (why is Alfonso Soriano standing there instead of taking second') What the scoreboard shows after a loss Click on photos to open a larger version in a new browser window. Cubs 6, Cardinals 2: The Cubbies improved to 45-17 at Wrigley and Ryan Dempster improved to 13-5 overall thanks to a nasty slider and two RBI apiece from Ronny Cedeno and Mark DeRosa. Chris Carpenter left with a strained right tricep in the 6th and it really hurts right now. No, I mean it hurts [...]
