Rose Gray gave me this recipe for the Italian answer to fondue, an easy-to-make lunch dish to eat after a leg-aching walk in the cold. A mixture of various mountain cheeses, melted with a tint of nutmeg, served piping hot beside a dish of bread or bread sticks to dip into it.
