We are in the first half of the first year of Micheal Heisley's infamous 3 yr plan for returning the franchise to respectability. O J Mayo is looking brilliant as a rookie. Rudy Gay is settling into the role many saw of him as an excellent second option (but not lead dog). Marc Gasol is looking like the reincarnation of Brad Miller and even Darrell Arthur has shown flashes of brilliance.

Memphis is starting to love the Grizzlies again. Amazing how getting a rookie who can average 28 pts, 5 rebounds and 3 assists while shooting 50% from the field and 50% from the arc during a 4 game road trip can get people excited about a team. Suddenly people have forgotten about Rudy Gay and his home opener game winning shot. They've forgotten about Marc Gasol's huge night against the Warriors....

Filed under: Grizzlies Memphis has been a bit of a surprise already, standing at 2-3 with a fightin' defense and the novel idea to let three rookies start from the get-go. (The starting lineup averages 21.6 years old. Talk about a youth movement.) But as you'd expect, most eyes have been laser-focused on two Grizzles: superstar candidate Rudy Gay and R.O.Y. nominee O.J. Mayo . The early results on...

Last year I ran a post predicting the statistics for each member of the Grizzlies and it didn't turn out too badly. I didn't figure on Rudy Gay completely busting out of his shell like he did, but I was fairly accurate on many other players . So here we go with a second year of sure-to-be-wrong predictions, since I absolutely love being held accountable for my predictions.

I was going to get to my Grizzlies preview last week, but I decided to wait and see the team in action a couple times before putting this together. So, here's my player by player look at what I expect this season: Rudy Gay- Rudy made a huge step in his development last year and I expect much more of the same out of him this year. He is an explosive offensive player with athleticism that is second to...
