According to PolitickerNJ, Scott Garrett is getting worried about Dennis Shulman (and for good reason ). In a letter asking Republican fat cats for more campaign cash, Garrett, of all people, attacked Shulman for being out of the mainstream: "Shulman claims he is mainstream," wrote Garrett. "But mainstream America has never wanted to fork over more dollars to the government Mainstream America has never...

As noted by Howie Klein , the Americans With Disabilities Act Amendments ( HR 3195 ) was overwhelmingly passed yesterday by a vote of 402-17. And once again, Scott Garrett was one of the 17 - the only republican from New Jersey (again) to vote against these Amendments. Is this because Garrett hates all Americans with disabilities? Is this because he thinks they don't need protection against discrimination?...

It isn't exactly news anymore when Scott Garrett is the only NJ republican House member to vote a certain way . While it shows his stunning ability to be out of step with his own party (and not in a good way, since he is more to the right than most party members at a time when the republican party is more and more at odds with what Americans want), there are certain times when his lone vote shows...

Why does Michele Bachmann have such a big problem keeping communications directors ? Rep. Scott Garrett, R-Wantage, is looking for another press secretary. His previous spokeswoman, Mary Vought, has left to become communications director for Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn. Vought follows Michelle Presson, who had been Garrett's chief of staff until March, when she took the same post with Bachmann.

Scott Garrett (NJ-05) is a symbol of the moral decay of the Bush Administration, and his barbaric voting record on animal rights is almost unique in the northeast, a reflection of his own savage views. Fortunately, we have the antidote with us here today -- Dennis Shulman, who wrote his postdoctoral psychoanalytic dissertation on the relationship between two of his blind patients and their guide dogs....

Now that the primaries are over, it is time for all sane and rational people of the fifth district to get behind Dennis Shulman - even if you weren't a supporter before - for the obvious reason of ending Scott Garrett's reign as one of Congress' most extreme rightists. We are familiar with his positions on calling himself a "fiscal watchdog", yet he allocates money to the sinkhole of the Iraq occupation...

New Jersey Republican Congressmen Scott Garrett, Rodney Frelinghuysen, Mike Ferguson, and Jim Saxton sent a resounding message to the unemployed yesterday. That message is, "This ain't 2003!!!" You see, back in 2003, when Republicans controlled the House, Republicans extended unemployment benefits by a vote of 416 to 4. Only Scott Garrett hated the unemployed enough to vote against extending benefits...

The headline says it all. Here's the black-and-white (emphasis mine): TWO DEMOCRATS have staged vigorous campaigns this spring for the chance to run against Rep. Scott Garrett, the conservative Sussex County Republican whose 5th District stretches from northern Bergen to the state's rural northwest. On the Democratic side, we believe Dennis Shulman, a rabbi and psychologist from Demarest, is the better...

The media just called the special election in Mississippi's 1st Congressional District for Democrat Travis Childers. It has a Cook PVI Index of R+10, since Bush got over 60% of the vote. We already knew Democrats have an excellent chance in NJ3 and NJ7, but NJ5's Scott Garrett is way too far to the right to represent New Jersey, and this is the year he can be beaten.
