According to sitemeter, the 200,000th visitor to Proper Course stopped by a few minutes ago. He or she is in Huntington Beach, California and visited several pages including a couple of classic Tillerman posts 7 Reasons to Hate Laser Sailors and Worst Sailing Mistakes . Thanks for stopping by, whoever you are... and thanks to the other 199,999. Without you this blogging game would be totally...

Some of you might recall that I removed a couple of pieces of javascript code when this blog started being flagged as an 'attack site' sometime ago. Sitemeter was one of them. Since I like some of its functionality, I have switched it back on. Gingerly. Do you think I should be worried? If Sitemeter is not a safe option, then what is? [I already have Google Analytics.] Thank you in advance...

Sitemeter shows that my daily visits have plummetted from over 700 down to 358 today. I'm wondering if it was my "Gay Gestapo" post. It's happened before. Oh, well. You can't please everybody.

According to Sitemeter Internal Monologue passed 100,000 visitors a few days ago. Yeah, most of them are people stumbling in on random Google searches or people looking for monologues, but hey, a visitor is a visitor. I hope I've made a modest contribution to the collective intelligence of the hivemind with my modest scribblings here.

... hand, the openness of blogging presents its own issues. I've more or less stopped looking at my sitemeter, but even when I did, I had no real way to know who was here and why, not unless people wanted to tell me. And I must admit I feel very ambivalent about writing personal things for an anonymous audience. There are plenty of other things to blog about, of course. But accepting that definitely...

Today’s SiteMeter: Supposedly it’s going to get fixed soon. But I’m beginning to feel like the guy who tells his mistress every week that this is the day he’s going to leave his wife. (It’s an analogy, Mrs. P!) I can tell you it’s going to happen — but I’m not sure I [...]

Althouse cracks 900k. Here at LIB, we racked up what I believe is our best month of visits ever - a healthy 6,000+ (our current sitemeter only has numbers back to September of 06, when it restarted for some reason, but I don't remember us going this high back in senior year of college). In the page view department, we had an absurdly high number of over 12,000 - safely double our visits. We're...

However, advertisers won’t be basing their pageviews on statistics sent by AWStats, at least not media agencies that knows what they’re doing. They have their own trackers, and naturally, the only pageview that gets tracked is one that actually exists. AWStats will show more than that....

We do like making friends, and we’ve made some good ones here. Also, the numbers are doing some interesting things. They tell a story of readers who pop on in, and make it a point to keep on keepin’-on. You nobodies, it seems,...
