The Skinny: Adam Dunn’s rbi double scored Conor Jackson from first base, and the Arizona Diamondbacks came from behind to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-3 at Chase Field on Wednesday. The Cardinals led 3-2 entering the 9th, when Stephen Drew led off the frame with a triple. After David Eckstein was retired [...]

Most of the press goes to the Drew brother who plays for the media-obsessed Boston team, but younger brother Stephen is putting together quite a season for himself. Stephen Drew showed his skills by hitting for the cycle on Monday. Granted, this feat seems less impressive when accomplished in the same season as [...]

Stephen Drew was sick in both senses of the word yesterday. He was physically ill, reportedly having fever that hit 102 degrees before the game. And he had a career day at the plate, going 5-5 including hitting for Chase Field’s first-ever cycle, and only the third one in Diamondbacks history. The Diamondbacks beat the Cardinals [...]

What’s the rarest feat to accomplish in baseball? Going 6 for 6? Pitching a perfect game? Well the rarest happened last night and hadn’t happened since 1921, two players hitting a cycle on the same day. Stephen Drew hit the third cycle in Arizona Diamondbacks history and Adrian Beltre couldn’t have picked a better time [...]

I guess Stephen Drew isn't a big name, except for writers of slash fiction. All he did on Monday was hit for the cycle, and AP called him Scott Drew (11th graph). Later Monday, Adrian Beltre also hit...

Stephen Drew lofted the ball to deep left field and the crowd rose. When it landed beyond Felipe Lopez and bounced into the stands, the ovation began.

Steve Gilbert / MLB.com : D-backs' Drew hits for cycle — Shortstop is third player in team history to achieve feat — PHOENIX — You will have to forgive some of the D-backs for not realizing that Stephen Drew was going for history when he stepped into the batter's box in the seventh inning Monday afternoon at Chase Field.

In what is perhaps the cosmic universe's response to my column the other day about the scarcity of cycles , the almighty watchmaker today gave us not one but two cycles. When better than on Labor Day for Stephen Drew and Adrian Beltre to work it, so to speak. Drew's cycle went single, triple, homerun, double, double. The first double was of the ground-rule variety, and it'd be interesting to know...
