The second in a three-part series continues to explore New York state’s summer college league. Eleven current major leaguers have called the NYCBL home for at least one season. Tim Hudson, the Atlanta Braves’ ace, played with Hornell in 1996. That same year Houston’s Brad Lidge tossed heat for the Ithaca Lakers. Lidge, out of Notre Dame, was selected in the first round of the ’98 draft. Four years...

Changed out the video on the left side bar, we go from Tim Hudson scaring the ever living crap out of Eddie Perez to Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux waxing poetic about ‘chicks digging the long ball’. Personally it’s my favorite Nike commercial ever. “Hey! We’ve got Cy Young winners over here!” Classic. Enjoy! Random Posts February 22, 2007 [...]

So I’m still messing around with the new theme and all the crazy stuff I can get it to do, I’m like a kid at the candy store. Over on the left side bar, I’ve added “RD TV” which will feature different videos from time to time - like right now it’s Tim Hudson scaring [...]

Ah, Mets-Braves, great games, great rivalry. Uh, not so much this year. Much like the Mets were hit with the injury bug with John Maine and Pedro Martinez going down, you all know John Smoltz has been out since late May and Tim Hudson has not pitched for a good month now. After a white [...]

The A's have been patient with their last link to the Tim Hudson trade, but Dan Meyer isn't helping his staying power. The left-hander still hasn't lasted more than five innings in a big-league start. Friday night, he lasted five outs. The A's lost 12-2 to...

What is these players have in common: Gary Sheffield, J.D. Drew, Tim Hudson, and Mark Teixeira? They were all acquired by the Braves via trade, with two or less years remaining until they became agents. Also, in each case the Braves gave up prospects who were currently or would eventually play in the major leagues. [...]

Johan Santana threw a three-hit shutout at Pittsburgh, while striking out seven batters without issuing a walk. The only other NL pitcher to throw a shutout this season with no more than three hits allowed, no walks and at least seven strikeouts was Tim Hudson against the Reds on May 2 in Atlanta. Santana is only the second NL pitcher in the last four seasons (2005-2008) to do that in a road game....

At 55-67, the Braves are far from their pre-season expectations and World Series aspirations. The team’s expected success hinged on a potentially dominant rotation that included Tim Hudson, John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, Mike Hampton, and Jair Jurrjens. It’s been five months since opening day and we’ve seen both Hudson and Smoltz undergo season-ending surgeries, while [...]

Tim Hudson may have been hoping for a miracle but that hope was not rewarded. The Braves’ ace right-hander went under the knife for Tommy John ligament replacement surgery on Friday. Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery, which is officially called ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction. The procedure replaces the damaged ligament (which is on the [...]

At this point I'm pretty sure the Braves are doing an NBA-style tank job in order to get the first pick in the draft. I sure hope they get Tim Duncan: Tim Hudson is scheduled to have ligament-transplant elbow surgery with Dr. James Andrews on Friday, but on Thursday, Andrews examined another Braves pitcher. Closer Rafael Soriano, who has been on the DL most of the season with recurring elbow soreness,...

Tim Hudson will undergo Tommy John surgery tomorrow in Pensicola, Florida, performed by Dr. James Andrews. While he's down there, he'll have some company. Reliever Rafael Soriano will be examined today by Andrews in an effort to determine what the cause of Soriano's elbow discomfort is. This is especially troubling news since Soriano has already had Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in August...
