Remakes are rarely as good as their originals and Karzzz is no exception. The 1980 Karz (Rishi Kapoor and Tina Munim) was a blockbuster, but one wonders whether blockbusters should be remade. Particularly movies like Karz. Reincarnation as a theme is fine, but the whole rigmarole of revenge, larger than life villains and helpless women [...]

... giving the audience any time to relax. Debutante Shewta Kumar is no match to the innocent and coy Tina Munim from Subhash Ghai’s “Karz”. Shweta should have learnt to emote a bit before facing the camera. And how much we wished Himesh had taken some classes in it too! Urmila Matondkar in her flowing gowns and effective make up takes the cake. She is more glamorous than Simi Garewal...
