Tyjuan Hagler has tried to be upbeat, but his smile has only masked discontent. He sought a meeting with Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy a few weeks ago. Oft-injured but a seven-game starter last season, Hagler had been relegated to special teams this season and wanted to discuss it.

I really don't understand the flippant term "player's coach", but Tony Dungy is notably one of the best in the NFL. The popular designation has been thrown around loosely by players and the media through the years, but members of the Indianapolis Colts seem to be fine with their veteran coach who makes sure his team is put in the right situation year after year.

The Indianapolis Colts will be without Bob Sanders for at least one more game. The Pro Bowl safety is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Cleveland, but coach Tony Dungy said Sanders will not play.

Tony Dungy now believes he spoke too soon. About 12 hours after the Indianapolis Colts' stirring 23-20 victory in San Diego late Sunday, the coach recalled telling his team on Oct. 27 that a sixth straight AFC South title was out of the question. The Colts had lost to Tennessee that day to fall to 3-4, four games behind the undefeated Titans.

Jeff Saturday suffered a strained left calf in the 2nd quarter last night and did not return. Tony Dungy said it's similar to an injury that he suffered against Detroit on Thanksgiving in 2004 that caused him to miss two games. Dungy hopes this won't be as long, but didn't have any idea at this point. ESPN 1070
