well we decided to take the bus to luang prabang rather than phonsavan as we heard luang prabang was an amazing place and known as the temple town of unspeakable beauty so we didnt want to spend more time in vientiane as we felt it wasnt a great city plus there was nothing to do only we got drunk on lao beer there... ha ha we headed for the bus station this morning at 7am and bouught our tickets f

Although not a necessarily noisy night storm wise the rain was still pouring down when we awoke. We were getting the mini van to Vientiane this morning not the VIP coach as before our assumption was that a mini van would have a greater ability in dodging pot holes. The road however was not as bad as from Luang Prabang as it didn't wind so much through the hills still many pot holes luckily

Our night flight from Vientiane to Hanoi was supposed to take less than one hour but it ended up taking much longer. The tropical storm brewing over Hanoi was causing havoc with air traffic in and out of the airport. As we sat on board the Vietnamese Airlines Airbus we began our descent into the airport the nighttime approach hindered by dismal visibility caused by the low altitude cloud outside.

We knew the capital of Laos was going to be a lot quieter than Bangkok the currency was called the Kip for a start but the first real indication of how different things were was on approach to Vientiane International.
