When I started my non-league blog I welcomed news of Dean Saunders' appointment as Wrexham manager. Not because I thought Saunders would rescue this once-proud north Wales club from the depths of non-league mediocrity, but because I believed that combining his duties as Wales No 2 with running a struggling club side would not work, and therefore would give me a juicy topic to write about.
