Over at the S60Blog, Ani has posed an interesting question in which he askes whether Nokia’s 5800 XpressMusic can steal a march on the iPhone in certain markets. Coming from an Indian perspective, he says there is a gap in the market now that the ‘initial euphoria’ of the iPhone has died down. The 5800 [...]

If you recall, recently we mentioned the Spanish Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, which for some reason costed a whole $500 (two times higher than the original price). Well, now we know why. The handset actually came preloaded with a €100 worth Nokia Music Store voucher and a 3-month subscription to Nokia Maps Navigation service. How do you like that? What an impudent trick to suck more money from cus...

MobileBurn has brought a few nice video demonstrations of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic to those of us who are still waiting to get our hands on one. They are reporting that other than the two bugs that are believed to be worked out in the production model, the XpressMusic 5800 is a really solid device. First [...]

The Nokia XpressMusic 5800 shipping date is drawing ever near, and the mobile phone has been popping up on various websites for pre-order, and there seems to be rather a large outcry as prospective Nokia XpressMusic 5800 owners see the price. In Spain it was more than EUR 429 which is well beyond the officially [...]

We've seen a review of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, and several videos of the device in action . What we haven't seen, however, is a video review... until now. Over at MobileBurn they've posted a series of four review videos of the touchscreen handset, and though it starts out a bit shaky -- the stylus is "not very good" and the build doesn't feel very "solid" -- the reviewer changes his tune...

It's probably fair to say that no one in Spain had a very good day on Friday when the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic showed up on Nokia.es for €429 (about $550), up from its earlier €279. Well it looks like the zaniness at least kind of has an explanation, though it's not one that's likely to cool any enraged heels. Apparently the base price of the phone was, and is €279, but "each country" can bundle...

The official launch date in selected markets for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is fast approaching, and it seems the price confusion has left many with a sour taste in their mouth. It is this price confusion that could affect the sale of the new Nokia handset. Those potential buyers in Spain were not happy with the [...]
