The 5455 has character. All features work fine after taking it apart and removing the vibrator module. Finally, after having the untit in storage for 6 months I am able to synchronise again. All those guys who are not happy with the HP IPAQ. I need the upgrade to 2003 from 2002. Any help is appreciated as to where I can get a free download. Microsoft should allow a free download after all the trouble...

The Defender is fairly rugged and durable. It is weather resistant to a high degree (This WAS my concern, as my PDA is used exclusively outside doing Data collection for the Forest Service). Between the silicone plugging up all major openings, the clear plastic screen, and my Wide Brimmed Hat, I don't fear water in my PDA except for torrential rains and dunking. Let me say that more clearly. NOT Waterproof...

This is an excellent Pocket PC. It may do more than an ipod. 400MHZ processor. Works with a 4GB non-HD SD card for music and programs. Very good quality. I recommend tapeing the screen to keep from scratching the glass to protect the display screen. Hello! I have a HP iPAQ rx5720 with Windows Mobile 5.0. I'm using AxHost code from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa446515.aspx . This control works great in a ScreenOrientation angle of 0º or 180º (portrait). But it doesn't work if the orientation is 90º or 270º (landscape). iPAQ presently refers to a Pocket PC or personal digital assistant first unveiled by Compaq in April 2000, but the name was borrowed from Compaq's earlier iPAQ desktop personal computers. Since Hewlett-Packard acquisition of Compaq, HP has marketed the product. Besides this, there are several distributions of Linux, which also operate in some of these devices.
