It may no longer be the first to launch in North America (that distinct honor now belongs to Bell), but we can finally say with some confidence that Verizon's version of the Samsung Omnia II isn't that far off.
I still don't know why the Omnia II 's 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen is resistive, but the WinMo 6.5 phone will go head-to-head with Verizon's own Moto Droid. Leaked docs suggest it'll be $200 on contract after $100 mail-in rebate. As we noted when we first saw ai.rs video below, the TouchWiz 2.0 UI looks nice, but the resistive touch lag is a shame given the 800Mhz processor. Still, there you have...
We saw the slick looking Samsung Omnia II when it first tipped up for preorder on Amazon earlier in the fall. The handset was cool and all, but the thing has a preorder price of $999 seriously hurting the attractiveness of the device. Engadget reports that it has had a look at the Verizon launch packet for the device and the handset it set to launch on the carrier on December 2 . The best news is...
Samsung’s mobile devices have come a long way in the last three years. I’ve lambasted them for much of that period over their chintzy resistive touch-screens, but recent handsets including the Behold II and Moment have been upgraded with vibrant AMOLED screens. The recent adoption of the Android OS on certain devices in the lineup [...]
The Samsung Omnia II will be heading towards Verizon Wireless, although it does make us wonder why the carrier would release a Windows Mobile 6.5 device to go up against the Motorola Droid from their own stable. SEems that it will retail for $200 a pop for a 2-year contract, although at that price point you will need to send in a $100 mail-in rebate. The Omnia II is set for a December 2 release. The Verizon branded Samsung Omnia II has been missing in action for quite some time. It was rumored to launch in each of the last few months, but here we are in November and it's still not released. It looks like the wait is finally coming to an end. A tipster has leaked Big Red's launch package, which mentions that the Windows phone will launch in all channels on December 2. The Omnia II will come...
Verizon Wireless are doing everything humanly possible to rake in the best smartphone carrier title for this year. Although officially introduced in North America last month by Bell, it looks like Big Red is also interested in carrying their own version of the new Samsung Omnia II, with the handset ...
If last month we caught wind that Verizon is going to bring the new Samsung Omnia II to their network, today we can finally confirm it that the US carrier has set a release date for the handset on December 2nd. Priced at $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate, Big Red’s version of the Omnia [...]
If you have been lusting after the slick Samsung Omnia II since it turned up for a very over priced preorder on Amazon back in September Verizon will have the handset soon. The best news is the device will cost $199 after mail-in rebates. Virgin Mobile Canada has announced that it will be selling the iPhone [...]
Samsung will soon launch a new LiMo phone in Korea, the SCH-M510. It will feature a 3.5" WVGA touch OLED, 5mp camera, Wi-Fi, bluetooth and an accelerometer. This might be just a rebrand of the Vodafone 360 H1 , we're not sure yet. Via Samsung Hub
