NZXT has just announced a new update for its Crafted series of PC cases, the Guardian 921 gaming-oriented mid-tower enclosure. Based on the apparently successful Guardian case, the 921 is built out of 0.88mm and 1.00mm steel, has a black coasting and a mix of curves and straight lines that should be appreciated at LAN parties. Featuring a clear side panel for extra inner bling, the Guardian 921 has...

Filed under: Desktops Here's the thing about PC cases -- they spend a good bit of time showing off how fantastic the outside of component-filled boxes can look, but generally speaking, the innards are completely overlooked. Digital Cowboy is out to dramatically reverse the trend with its Acrylic Cowboy cases, which -- by and large -- place your hardware on the outside of the case. We can't exactly...

Digital Cowboy from Japan has unleashed its Acrylic Cowboy computer case range that does away with exterior case walls, which is a two-edged sword IMHO. It leaves your computer innards open to all sorts of mishaps (and a whole lot of dust attack) but will definitely run much cooler compared to a traditional PC case. There are various styles to choose from, ranging from the minimal orange platform...

I’ve always thought of a person’s PC case as something of form of self-expression. Often you can find a bit out about the person, and the PC simply by looking at their case. If a person isn’t big into gaming or performance, they will generally have a stock case, or a plain ATX chassis. PC gamers will generally go for a case with plenty of cooling, and a specific look that suits them. The new Guardian...

Not everyone has the need or desire for a full tower chassis, so Thermaltake took many of the features of the popular Armor case and compressed it all into a very pleasing mid-tower offering. The Armor MX has a lot in common with its big brother including a massive intake fan on the side panel for cooling, ample room for hardware, and solid construction. http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/thermaltake_armor_mx_computer_case_review/...

Shuttle concentrates on Intel-based systems this time round with its SX48P2 Deluxe chassis which was specially built for gamers. It also holds the distinction of being the first chassis from Shuttle that is able to support DDR3 memory. This bodes well for those who want to come up with high performance systems, as it offers more memory headroom (up to 8GB if you're rocking to a 64-bit operating system)...

Last week Lora posted over at WhatIsNew a list of school case studies on Tablet PCs and touch. Wow. Things have sure progressed in the education space. Sometimes I feel like there’s not much going on and then I read this. I’ll say it again: Tablets make sense in education.

You might not think much about the Pc case you buy when you are building your system, but you should. A poorly built chassis can cause lots of headaches while building your system and if the case is designed poorly overheating can be an issue too. Lanco...

Manufacturers are working hard to make these new PC cases look like traditional Home Theater equipment. The cases are built with anodized aluminum, come with authentic HT feet, and are adorned with volume knobs, media controls, stealthed DVD bays, and display readouts. One of the latest (and coolest) display readouts is a large LCD touchscreen that allows the user to operate the PC completely without...

It’s not very often that you see steampunk PC casemods built. For some reason, the vast majority of steampunk computer creations we see are Mac based. This big lump of brass, copper, clockwork and water cooling is a very nice change. [The Steampunk Workshop] Related posts All-In-One Victorian PC From Steampunk Jake Von Slatt (2) What to do [...]
