All of a sudden, everyone simply has to own a piece of the disk-drive suspension arm business. Well, okay, that’s an exaggeration. But I can’t find any particular reason for the sudden acceleration in the shares of Hutchinson Technology (HTCH) , maker of, like I said, disk-drive suspension arm assemblies. Hutchinson Technology shares have collapsed after the company disclosed that Seagate intends to phase out the purchase of suspension assemblies from the company. Hutchinson says the change will occur over 18-24 months. In the March quarter, Hutchinson said, Seagate was about 19 percent of sales.
