First, let me acknowledge the fact that today is D-Blog Day . In essence, it's a day dedicated to a vibrant diabetes blogging community which has organically grown to include several hundred individuals, and continues to grow. If you're interested, you can start your own blog, or just comment on some of the many posts out there. OK, with that addressed, now for my regular post. Disease Management 2.0...

D-Blog Day 2009

November is Diabetes Awareness Month, and today is D-Blog Day -- conceived four years ago by Gina Capone at Diabetes Talkfest as a means of celebrating the power of this ever-growing online community to share, to educate, to support anyone willing to write their story, make a comment, or simply read a d-blog.My son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes just over five years ago -- and honestly, I

First Keas DiabetesMine Health Plan Goes Live (!) on D-Blog Day

Today, I’ve got butterflies in my stomach, which usually only happens when I sit in the back seat of a moving vehicle. That’s not because it’s D-Blog day today, either, although I want to start out by sending lots of love to all my fellow diabetes bloggers, and you wonderful people who read our [...]

Felt the need to say SORRY to all my fantastic followers. Feels like ever since I moved here to Dubai I haven't been a good blogger. I had my birthday on Monday and my birthday resolution (can we do those?!) is to blog something every day (LOL - hope I don't bore you!!) Today's card is one I made a while a go but never got the chance to put on the blog. Robbie Robot!! Recipe: Robot from Papermania...

Poised

Submitted by Average Poet Blog Each day as dusk descends a motley murder wends its way across the sky from west to east, with eager ebon wings these crassly cawing things look greedily for scraps on which to feast; we scurry through the rain ignoring constant pain unsettled by the hungry heckling call, I’ve had my share of grief don’t need to see a leaf to know [...]

So Hot Right Now…

Well, my promise to blog every day didn’t last very long, did it. But more than once in one week is a good start at least :) Summer is finally here! After getting up week after week at 6am in pitch black, doing exercise in the dark in a cold sweat with freezing cold hands and whinging continually about it, I’m now complaining about how hot it is. Perhaps if I think cold thoughts…....

Hunter Violates Editorial Policy, "Leader" Publishes Personal Attack... Again

Jon Hunter, publisher, Madison Daily Leader ( photo credit ) Ah, the things I put up with. Once again, Madison Daily Leader publisher Jon Hunter makes an exception to his letters-to-the-editor "policy," just for little old me. From Thursday's Madison Daily Leader , a letter from Jim Hagemann (with annotations): Editor, The Daily Leader: This letter is in response to Cory Heidelberger's blog...

Medina Hill - Sally Nicholls

I'm writing this blog a day early in order to take part in the blog tour of Trilby Kent's 'Medina Hill', which came out last month. Trilby's book will be travelling across blogs in Britain, Canada and America, receiving reviews (wonderful idea, Trilby) and today it's visiting the Awfully Big Blog Adventure. 'Medina Hill' is the story of eleven-year-old Dominic, who has suffered from selective mutism...

My Blogday Week Post IV

This is part of the continuing celebration of my sixth anniversary in blogging, where I re-post some of my earliest contributions. The one below has to do with some news about women in management not wanting the brass ring, after all, and probably reflects the early mutterings of the "opt-out" phenomenon: On Glass Slippers and Ceilings Cinderella's foot fitted the glass slipper and so she...

NaBloPoMo

November is National Blog Posting Month. For those who choose to participate, as explained at the official site , the rules are simple: post to your blog every day in the month of November. With only a handful of misses - and one abstinence - I have been posting to Another Monkey at least once a day for...well, a very long time. But, ironically, November is the month when I'm most likely to miss a...
