The Terrorist Plot In The US We Don't Hear About

I found this through Instapundit, who mentioned that this story doesn't seem to have gotten much coverage. The original arrests took place in 2005; the sentencing was this week:Second Man Involved in Domestic Terrorism Plot Targeting Military, Jewish Facilities Sentenced to Prison SANTA ANA, Calif. – A man recruited to join a domestic terrorist cell that was plotting to attack United States

GOP Losing The New Media War

Instapundit notes that GOP has--shocker!--fumbled its battlefield preparations after the 2004 election. Were they asleep at the wheel? Did they think that John McCain would automatically be The Man, and therefore, his mutual love affair with the media would continue...

Legality of secession

(Via instapundit) Ann Althouse reports that 22% of Americans believe any state or region has the right to seceed. She describes them as fascinatingly stupid. I’m not sure I agree — it depends how they interpreted the question. As an abstract legal matter, they may be right — the constitution doesn’t forbid states to seceed, nor [...]

Career problems

Here’s why I will never make it as a professional photographer. Instapundit links to this page with a photograph and labels it a “very cool baseball photo”. The target article describes it with “the glories of the photograph are self-evident”. I, however, would have put it in the “not worth printing, but not worth deleting” pile that consumes ever larger amounts of my hard drive space. I did, however,...

airport abuse

CBS 2 has an article about complaints about airport screeners (link from Instapundit ). They describe what sound like some pretty abusive incidents. However, the TSA only answers with this: A spokesman said that out of 2 billion passengers screened nationwide since 9-11, there have been only 110,000 abuse complaints. What does that mean? 110,000 complaints sounds like a hell of a lot of complaints....

Obama Running For President Of The World

Yesterday I wrote about the Obama campaigns apparent belief that he will soon coroneted as President of the United States. Now today Instapundit believes he is running for President of the entire earth based on this news from Patrick Ruffini: This is pretty extraordinary. A candidate for the American Presidency is using flyers printed in [...]
