“Microsoft wooed Dell, Compaq, HP, Gateway, Acer and many other companies into making its browser the default choice on Windows desktops.”Or rather, they just didn’t install a second browser at all, since the only browser kinda HAS to be the default. I really doubt much wooing was involved.

Quite a few software makers routinely release Windows versions ahead of Mac flavors — Skype, Google Chrome and Adobe Photoshop Elements to name a few — and now it seems that poor Mac users can’t even get a decent virus that’s on par with the threats Windows users face. For the past few weeks I’ve been developing an idea to extend OpenOffice.org 3.0’s Welcome Screen into a more complete Dashboard concept. The idea sprung from Google Chrome’s new tab screen, Spicebird’s Home screen, and the social software ideas being developed as KDE’s Open Collaboration Services. Yesterday I uploaded (well, Alexandro did it for me) a [...]

One thing peopl have asked for since Google introduced Chrome this summer: An add-ons platform so developers could write nifty plugins, toolbars, extensions, etc. Proof that's important: Mozilla said yesterday that Firefox users have now...

Google has released Google Chrome beta, a new open-source browser, as suspected and is announced at Google Blog. Why it takes Google so long to develop one? What’s next? What about an alternative operating system to Windows?
