From Brian Cray’s excellent recent post: Web form design guidelines: an eyetracking study An in-depth comparison of three form designs—Google mail signup, Hotmail signup, and Yahoo! Mail signup. The selection of forms are ideal because each form is long as well as unique in terms of label positioning, field grouping, and identification of required fields. There has been a fair bit of comment recently on how twitter is taking over from blogging and commenting on blogs. My own blog has never had a high number of comments, but the number has dropped. Recently I've noticed that posts are tweeted and retweeted, but not commented on. Every so often I try to up my own commenting, without posting 'me too' or suchlike and to keep track of the comments I make....

A nice solution from QuarterToHappiness (based on a script from Brian Benzinger) to get coComment automatically activated on Opera. Have a look in our forum.

I know it took a VERY long time before we get it released, but, finally, it is ready now: our Firefox extension has been upgraded to support Firefox 3.5. If you already have our extension in Firefox 3.0, then you simply have nothing to do to get it working when you upgrade to Firefox 3.5. If you [...]

coComment service will be unavailable today from 9am GMT to 12am GMT for a maintenance. We will do our best to reduce the maintenance time and get the service up and running as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Shame, this was one of the better thought out blog comment tracking systems: co.mments - No more I guess I shall have to look around for an alternative. Not coComment , tried that and didn't like it. YackTrack and BackType seem to be OK from a quick Google, will try them. Or has anyone used Commentful , seems to be part of BlugFlux? Suggestions, people?

Well huh. Maybe the mythical comment-centralization system, attempted by so many -- see coComment , Disqus -- actually turns out to be... Twitter ? Why it's cool: Instead of existing only within the context of the commented-upon item, comments get to sort of reach out and pull more people into the conversation, too.

coComment provides a large variety of RSS feeds: conversations, comments, tag filtering, groups, blog, …… It is quite difficult to display all those feeds on the conversation pages without confusing users: to make it simple, we have created a dedicated page were you can find all your feeds and get the URL you need: http://www.cocomment.com/rssPromote coComment enable [...]

Tracking conversation is the core of coComment. And this is not an easy task as in most cases there is no structured way to extract the comments from an article. The only solution is then to get the page and extract the comments from the HTML code. When working with a limited number of blogs, this [...]

co.mments tracking service is shutting down. And I wasn't too happy with the other tracking provider, coComment either. Recently, I've discovered BackType, and so far have enjoyed my experience. You simply subscribe to the posts on blogs where you've left comments and a trail. It tracks those and sends you an email as new comments are posted, at your convenience...

In November 2008, I made my CoComment Co.mments Switch and now just received a notice that Co.mments is shutting down. Argh. Given that the reason for the switch is that I wasn't happy with CoComment, what should I use now? Browse eLearning Content at www.elearninglearning.com

Its main goal: connecting bloggers and firming the position of the blog as a platform for your online social activity. The latter [...]

After struggling for a while with tracking my conversations via CoComment, I've recently decided to switch over to Co.mments. It seems to be working pretty well. I considered a few of the other services as well, but it seemed like they were the best choice. I'm still not sure that there's a great overall answer to Blog Discussions Types . I discussed the specifics of Blogs, Community and Discussion...
