RIM has been busy outing updated BlackBerrys and the Pearl wasn't forgotten. An updated version is apparently on its way and these early pics clearly show that the phone is shapping up nicely. Everything is there from the slender candy-bar form factor to the SureType keyboard. Everything but the pearly trackball though. That's been replaced with a trackpad.

For those interested in the Blackberry Storm 2: Wirefly has just announced that it will sell the phone (with a new contract). If you already have a Verizon contract, you might be eligible for a $29.99 upgrade. From Wirefly: "Verizon is waiving the activation fee, as well. And additional savings of $35 for one line. Gotta love Salomondrin for leaking pics of the upcoming BlackBerry Pearl 9100 aka Stratus. The 9100 is apparently a 3G Pearl Flip for the GSM network. It has SureType, an optical trackpad, 3G, WiFi and the version we're seeing is running OS 5.0.0.350. Too bad Sal's YouTube was taken down by RIM legal.
