West suburban school closed by flu to reopen

St. Charles East High School, which closed Wednesday for the week because of a high absence rate from the flu, will reopen Monday. The announcement was made on the school's Web site. On Tuesday, the school had more than 900 absences. During the down period, teachers were checking in with ill students on their progress to determine if school could reopen Monday. --Noreen Ahmed-Ullah
