Gunter said that most lunch cruises this week were canceled by the high water, which is largely the result of Alabama Power Co. opening flood gates at dams upstream of Montgomery. The main dams affecting the river are Jordan dam and Walter Bouldin Dam, north of Wetumpka. Both release waters from Lake Jordan.
