Every day until Christmas the Londonist team will be pointing you in the direction of a Christmas present that (with a bit of luck) you won't already have on your list. Climb up onto our collective lap and we'll see what we can move from our sack to your stockings... It won't do the bongs in the same way as the real one, but it's still deeply impressive to have your own version of Big Ben and the...

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger will play at the Browns this Thursday as part of Week 14 action. The good news: Roethlisberger did very well against Cleveland earlier this year, throwing for 417 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He's also totaled two or more touchdowns in three of his last five against them. The bad news: Heavy winds and snow are in the forecast for Cleveland this Thursday...

Allen Iverson was the No. 1 pick in 1996, Ben Wallace undrafted that year. Yet for all their stark differences, they also share striking similarities - including the fact both are back in the cities they came to personify.

I went down to Big Ben's Pies last month with my son only to find that there were a whole lot of contractors at the shop who told me that the shop had changed owners! My son was devastated because Big Ben's pies were his favourite. So, I updated on the blog that the shop had closed. However, a few weeks later, someone wrote in to say that Big Ben's was still alive and well! So, I quickly brought my...

Soon after the 2009 free agent market opened the Detroit Pistons made a huge splash, giving $100 million to Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva. At the time this deal was announced I – as a lifetime fan of this team (with a wonderful team banner on my office wall) – offered a quick response: Ugh! To [...]

Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger returned from a one-game absence due to a concussion in Week 13 only to lose to the Oakland Raiders. Big Ben went 18 of 24 for 278 yards and two touchdowns in the game but did throw an interception. He hit Santonio Holmes in stride in the end zone for a 34-yard TD pass in the 2nd quarter and later found Hines Ward from 11 yards out. He added three carries for 7 yards....

Big Ben in the early evening. Fun Fact: although everybody calls this structure 'Big Ben', the name 'Big Ben' only really applies to the bell within the tower, and not the whole tower itself. That's a useful Trivial Pursuit fact, that is. We were in London because my friend Matty is moving back to NZ with his wife and baby. It was a flipping mission to go and see them - they had their leaving drinks...

PITTSBURGH – Ben Roethlisberger felt out of sync all day in the Pittsburgh Steelers' offense. Santonio Holmes felt just fine. Holmes disputed the quarterback's notion that the Steelers had "something missing" during a 18-12 loss to Cincinnati that moved the Bengals (7-2) ahead of the Steelers (6-3) in the AFC North race. Holmes took umbrage on Wednesday when a reporter asked why the

I fear that sensitivity is not one of my strong points. If you are looking for a touchy-feely sort of a blog, you have come to the wrong place. Which is perhaps why I was taken aback by the following story concerning the Steelers, whom I had hitherto understood to be big, bruising men involved in a tough occupation with no time for refined nonsense. I was apparently wrong .... Big Ben: Ward's words...
