The proceeds of the Garden Trail in June 2009 went to provide soap for 2000 prisoners in Chichiri Prison, Blantyre. It is clearly appreciated, at least by the Officer-in-charge.

Firefighters were called to the fire in Devondale Avenue, Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, in the early hours of the morning. A 40-year-old-woman and her daughter were rescued from the house by emergency workers and were taken to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride. But police said that they died a short time later.
