By conquering Brad Lidge in the ninth inning and stopping the Phillies, 7-4, in Game 4 of the World Series, the Yankees climbed one victory away from winning it all. The Yankees also conquered a closer for the third consecutive series, with Lidge faltering after Joe Nathan (Minnesota Twins) and Brian Fuentes (Los Angeles Angels) had stumbled against them, too.
