New England backup QB Brian Hoyer saw some action on Monday night at New Orleans in Week 12. With the Patriots losing 38-17 with around four minutes remaining, coach Bill Belichik pulled Tom Brady and put in Hoyer. He finished 2 of 4 for 19 yards.

Simple: the Saints are for real (in a nice warm dome anyway) and the Pats still have major issues. When Brady’s on, he’s incredible . When he’s off… well, that’s when the defense needs to step up. That’s what’s been missing this season....
