Pacific Trust Bank of Chula Vista and its parent, PacTrust Bancorp, swung to a profit in the third quarter, thanks to an increase in loans and a declining cost of funds. The bank reported net income of $1.5 million, or 30 cents a share, compared with earnings of $1.4 million, or 35 cents a share, for the third quarter last year.
