Promoted by Jason Springer: Here is JRB's take. The White House wants David Paterson out of the running for New York's 2010 gubernatorial election. Paterson hopes they'll reconsider. Because hey -- it worked for Jon Corzine . In early August, David Axelrod and Patrick Gaspard met at a New York City hotel with Corzine's campaign staffers, asking whether or not the incumbent governor...

In an interesting read, Senate President Dick Codey barely waited until the votes were counted before he started telling some of the back stories of the twists and turns in the Corzinecampaign. Codey said he got a call from the White House a week after Vice President Joe Biden appeared at Corzine's poorly attended primary night kickoff rally in West Orange in June. "They...
How does a Republican beat a Democratic incumbent who can outspend him/her 4-1, in a deep blue state? Even as they were announcing his unpredictable early victory last night, pundits were still being critical of the Christie campaign. "Terrible, awful, not pretty, etc." is how many continue to described the campaign. Here's my question to the columnists, editorial boards and...

Despite a last-minute push from President Barack Obama incumbent Jon Corzine's campaign just couldn't muster enough momentum to beat Chris Christie. It was a very somber mood at Corzine headquarters in East Brunswick. The former governor conceded and then said, regardless of the outcome, he sees a bright future for New Jersey.
AP.com : Chris Christie, an aggressive former prosecutor who racked up a perfect conviction rate in public corruption cases and became the darling of New Jersey's Republican Party establishment, has unseated the deep-pocketed but unpopular Gov. Jon Corzine. Christie, 47, on Tuesday became the first member of his party in a dozen years to win a statewide contest in heavily Democratic New Jersey....
(Via Libertarian Republican , who also has a mug shot) Remember: the Corzinecampaign has no idea who this Jason Shih is. The quote is “… the campaign doesn’t know who he is .” So he has no connection at all with the campaign, right? No connection whatsoever . Shih also reportedly had 10 paychecks from the Middlesex County Democratic Committee in...
Look, the guy claims he's assistant deputy director to Democrat Jon Corzine's re-election campaign. But with that much incriminating evidence in the car, shoot, I'd play stupid too. (And, of course, with Republican Chris Christie edging ahead in the polls , Corzine's clinging on for dear life; for Christ 's sake he can't deal with a totally fubar campaign drug bust at the...
As we expected, the Corzinecampaign are pulling every dirty trick out of the Democrat playbook to get their boss re-elected (since he's long since realized there is zero case for it based on the merits). We surmised a few days back that independent candidate Chris Daggett's mere existence in the campaign at this point was being paid for by Corzine, if not in cash, than...
Is there still any doubt that "independent" candidate Chris Daggett is a stalking horse for Jon Corzine? The NJ Democratic State Committee admitted today that they are running robocalls on behalf of Daggett . (h/t Memeorandum ) The calls are critical of Republican Chris Christie and are being targeted at likely Christie voters. Hey, I should feel special, I got one! Remember too that...
New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine is locked in the political fight of his life. With just hours left before voting, polls show a neck-and-neck race between Corzine and GOP candidate Chris Christie, with Independent candidate Chris Daggett pulling significant support. Obama and VP Biden are making last ditch pitches for the embattled governor. But evidence is building that Corzine’s...
NEWARK -- In English, and repeating a few slogans in Spanish, Gov. Jon Corzine greeted about 75 seniors here at senior home in one of a whirlwind of stops on the day before voters decide on the next governor of...

Filed under: Democrats, Barack Obama, Governors, Campaigns NEWARK, N.J. – President Obama spent Sunday trying to convince New Jersey voters that a vote for Jon Corzine, their less-than-popular Democratic governor, was a vote for him. An afternoon event at the Prudential Center in downtown Newark drew over 10,000 mostly black voters, who took up chants of [...]
Memeorandum ... Public Policy Polling: Christie leads Chris Christie leads Jon Corzine 47-41 in PPP's final poll of the New Jersey Governor's race, with Chris Daggett at 11%. — Corzine had pulled to within a point of Christie on our poll three weeks ago after trailing by as many as 14 points over the summer, but his momentum has stalled since then and Christie's built his lead...
