Local nonprofit finds homes for unwanted pets; fundraiser set

Dawn Kubisz gathers her thoughts with ease but wrestles to form the words. Her fingers splay and bend out of turn, so writing is not an alternative. Regardless, about two years ago, Kubisz sat down at a typewriter and completed a 40-page nonprofit application. Six weeks later, it was approved, and A New Dawn Pet Adoption was born.
