Last night I watched Donnie Darko on my Girlfriends PSP ... and I was pleasantly surprised. Not by the film, which I've seen before (and highly, HIGHLY recommend) but by the overall quality of the film on such a twee console. The audio and visual quality was tremendous, even better than the quality on iPods and the like. It was a bit awkward to hold for an hour and a half and the battery...

Donnie Darko (2001) In some ways, Donnie Darko is like any other 15-year-old boy: He’s socially awkward, he sneaks cigarettes and booze when adults aren’t around, and he just wants a girlfriend. But in more clinical terms, he suffers from nightmarish visions and the...

I can and have - seriously I have, click here to see - list a bunch of reasons why I believe this movie's too cool for school, but it really, the essence, it all boils down you see to that delightful line uttered there above....

CinemaScore is the audience-reaction research tool of choice for the film industry - because of its uncanny accuracy. Not good news for Richard Kelly, whose latest film The Box has just been awarded a rare-as-Ed-Wood's-teeth F-grade There can be no doubt that Cameron Diaz's new film has flopped. The Box, a horror thriller adapted from a short story by Richard Matheson by Donnie Darko...

... would be buzzing with ways to carry it on to make a real movie. Alas, Richard Kelly (who once did Donnie Darko) had no access to this class. So The Box goes nowhere in a mounting frenzy, as if it knew a bunch of kids could do better. But you'll never forget Langella as Arlington Steward. All over the world, in the next few years, young film-makers are going to have him in mind. Assume...
