Just how low can can Houston Mayoral run-off Gene Locke candidate go? Given a chance in a debate last night with rival Annise Parker to reject the endorsement of anti-gay hatemonger Steven Hotze, Mr. Locke did not do so. ( Above–Death Valley, California. The lowest point in North America at 282 feet below sea level. Gene Locke [...]

Just an amazing prevarication . (Debate moderator and ABC-13 anchor Gina) Gaston: Mr. Locke, are you comfortable with political help or endorsements by people who oppose Annise Parker solely on the basis of her sexual orientation? Locke: The reality is this: Both Annise and I oppose bigotry. Both Annise and I have been victims of bigoted attacks during this campaign. But this election...

I wrote about Gene Locke's responses to the Houston Stonewall Young Democrats questionnaire. Now that Hotze has sent out a mailer with the endorsement Locke requested, HSYD has a response - and calls on Locke for an answer. Tonight's ABC13 debate at 8 PM would be a good time for that, if Locke shows up . HYSD press release below: HSYD Calls on Gene Locke...

As with the President of the Houston Police Officers Union, Gary Blankinship, you just can't trust Gene Locke with the truth. Here is a bit of fact checking on Locke's performance last night. Look for more of "Locke's Loose Lips" in the future. "I am not a lobbyist. I've never been a lobbyist." and ""Being a lobbyist means you have to go and...

In last night's ABC13 debate, when asked who Locke has been a lawyer-lobbyist for in the past, Locke answered: "I am not a lobbyist; I have never been a lobbyist." When pressed by Parker in her rebuttal that indeed he has been considered a lobbyist, Locke lectures her with these remarks: "Lawyers represent their clients . . . being a lawyer means you have to go to...

How do you say one thing to one crowd and say something else to another? Harder to do in the internet age. The endorsement of a local anti-gay crusader put mayoral contender Gene Locke on the spot Monday as he considered whether social conservatives' support was worth the risk of appearing to embrace views some voters may find intolerant. Locke, the former city attorney enmeshed...

Mean Gene found what he was looking for, an endorsement from the hate monger Steven Hotze. You can see the endorsement card front and back here. Look for Gene to back pedal out of this endorsement faster than a republican getting caught at a hooker convention with a bag full of condoms. Locke, who sought the endorsement from Hotze once he realized that his black/brown coalition...

On Wednesday, Mayoral candidate Gene Locke released his tax returns, about two weeks after Annise Parker released hers. I’m not sure what took him so long, since apparently there’s nothing particularly remarkable about them, but that’s neither here nor there at this point. He released them, and good for him for doing so.
