So, how are the Lions coping the day after a particularly deflating loss to the Rams? A bit strangely, if at all. For the first time this season, coach Jim Schwartz chose not to give an introductory statement and headed straight to questions at his afternoon news conference. Wide receiver Calvin Johnson and running back Kevin Smith continued to practice today. Both seem likely to play Sunday at Seattle, though Lions coach Jim Schwartz likely will not tip his hand.

ALLEN PARK, Mich. – Jim Schwartz doesn't want his Detroit Lions to play an overly conservative offense. Without Calvin Johnson, he doesn't think he has much of a choice. Even with a bye week to prepare and the return of rookie quarterback Matt Stafford, the Lions (1-6) couldn't move the ball consistently against the hapless St. Louis Rams on Sunday, losing 17-10 to a team that hadn't won
