(By Keith Cannon, Special Correspondent) Jimmy Owens took the checkered flag and the victory in the Late Models main event at the World of Outlaws World Finals Saturday night at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway. But points leader Josh Richards won the race he needed to win, too, edging out veteran Steve Francis for the 2009 Late Models points championship.

... It was a great defensive effort by Haddonfield, which bottled up West Deptford's running attack. Jimmy Owens, who was averaging almost a first down per carry, was limited to 90 yards in 27 carries by the Bulldogs. So for shocker of the weekend, we'll go with Haddonfield by the slightest of margins.

West Deptford held a two-point lead when Jimmy Owens took control of last night's South Jersey Group 2 football quarterfinal, scoring five straight touchdowns and driving the host Eagles to a 56-12 victory over Buena.
